1. Introduction to Law Major
Chang'an University established the undergraduate major of law in 2001, and was approved for the master's degree in the second-level discipline of Economic Law in September 2006. It adheres to the road of cross-integration and combines legal concepts, principles and legal systems with the school's superior disciplines, and obtained the Law first-level discipline master’s degree authorization point in 2017. According to our school's superior discipline characteristics such as highway transportation, construction engineering, land resources, urban and rural construction, etc., the discipline characteristics of Law-based, combined engineering and law together have been initially formed. Cultivate and condense four secondary law disciplines: economic law, environmental and resource protection law, civil and commercial law, and administrative law, to study the legal issues closely related to the socio-economic and industrial development of our school’s unique advantages and professional fields, and create the discipline of law with distinctive characteristics. After years of construction, the discipline has initially obtained certain research results, especially in the environmental and resource law, economic law, highway traffic administrative law, construction engineering law, etc., initially forming a disciplinary foundation with distinctive characteristics and obvious advantages. The discipline has a school-level teaching teacher, the Ministry of Education A Wonderful Lesson winner, Shaanxi Provincial Judges and Prosecutor Selection (Disciplinary) Committee members, dual-qualified teachers and other discipline talent teams, laying the foundation for the development of the discipline.
2. Training goals
This major is based on the education concept of rigorous and realistic, striving for innovation, adheres to both morality and law, cultivates the comprehensive development of morality, try to train law talents with intelligence, good physical health, art and ability, rich social conscience and sense of responsibility, and has a solid theoretical foundation and practical ability in the new era. Master the basic theories and systematic professional knowledge of law, be familiar with laws and regulations in the fields of highway transportation, construction engineering, land resources, urban and rural construction, and have a strong ability to operate legal affairs; master a foreign language and be able to read and translate foreign language materials for this major ; understand the development trends of the discipline of law, and have the ability to independently engage in scientific research activities using scientific research methods.
3. Main research directions
01 Economic Law
This direction focuses on the national macro-control legal issues in the superior and characteristic disciplines of our school, especially the market regulation law and industrial regulation legal system as the main research area, focusing on the private finance, securities, real estate and other special market legal regulations and transportation, culture Industrial regulation conducts in-depth research and forms its own characteristics in legal system construction such as investor rights protection theory, rural financial system innovation and supervision, orderly flow of private capital, and regional cultural industry promotion.
02 Environmental and Resource Protection Law
This direction relies on our school’s superior discipline platform, takes sustainable development ideas and value pursuits as the concept, takes the legal issues in the rational use of resources by humans as the perspective, and focuses on the study of basic theories of environmental resource law, natural resource law, and environmental resource legal responsibilities and disputes. Combine with regional characteristics, conduct legal countermeasure research on the development and protection of energy, water, and land resources in Northwest China and form its own advantages.
03 Civil and Commercial Law
This direction relies on the advantages of our school’s highway transportation, construction engineering, land environmental resources, urban and rural construction, and other advantageous disciplines. Research on legal issues related to highway engineering, construction engineering, mining engineering, real estate cooperation transfer, expropriation, compensation, and transfer of rural collective land, forming a characteristic discipline.
04 Administrative Law
This direction relies on the resource advantages of the school’s highway transportation advantage discipline group, which is based on the administrative control mechanism, and focuses on the study of the legal relationship of transportation administration. It focuses on the practical problems of transportation administration and environmental administration. Research on legal systems such as property protection and road rights maintenance, highway tunnel safety protection, and transportation administrative law enforcement, has formed a teaching, scientific research and social service team featuring road transportation administrative law enforcement and environmental administrative protection.
4. Training methods
The training of academic degree master students adopts a combination of course study, legal practice and scientific research. The tutor is responsible for the combination of the collective training of the subject group, and integrates theoretical teaching, practical links, scientific research and innovation education. At the same time, it is responsible for formulating postgraduate training plans, organizing the opening of questions, mid-term assessments, and defenses under the unified arrangement of the college, and guiding scientific research and dissertation work.
5. School system and length of study
The academic degree master's degree is 3 years, and the maximum length of study is 4 years. The maximum length of study is 6 years for master students who suspend their studies due to entrepreneurship.
